| always on the go and sometimes simple things get neglected. And that's assuming a perfect situation where you have a slow leak. What if you ran over a nail that caused a leak that day and air pressure dropped before you could check it. My logic is perfectly fine with my statement about a family member. You may think that because there are relativly few fatal accidents and it hasn't happened to you that it must mean there really isn't a safety issue. If it happened to your family and you did everything as you think you would (checked tire pressure and all other maintenance)you may feel diferently about how much of a safety issue it is. I never wore a helmet when I rode my bike as a kid and I would venture to say relatively few kids actually die from head injuries sustained while riding a bike...but someone thought it was important enought to prevent at least one death and they created a law that children must wear helmets while riding bikes.
